Cyanotype is a photographic printing process, pioneered by botanist Anna Atkins in 1843 to create an album of algae specimens. Objects are placed on paper treated with a photosensitive solution, then exposed to the sun, leaving the image of the object. I create my cyanotypes using ocean water, salt, sand and foraged objects such as rocks, leaves, seaweed, etc.
